Territory: West or Central Africa
A vacancy has arisen as we expand our geographical reach within Africa and the Middle East. Successful candidates will be responsible for obtaining new sales from within a defined geographical territory with a particular focus on Data (delivered via Cable, Terrestrial and Satellite) and Value Added Services Sales. Customers typically consist of Mobile Operators, PTT’s and ISP’s.
With an overall responsibility for managing the full sales cycle (forecasting, qualifying, negotiating, co-ordinating implementation) the jobholder will work as part of our Global Sales team in partnership with the Account Management team who manage Gateway’s existing customer relationships.
Through understanding of customer needs, market trends and the competitive landscape, the job holder, reporting to the Executive Sales Director, will play an integral role in the future success of Gateway Communications – Carrier Services.
Applicants must have experience of international sales in the Telecom industry, ideally with Mobile, fixed-line Network Operators and ISPs on the African continent . A minimum of 5 years proven sales experience is looked for to establish the required credibility. He/she must be able to work independently, to set priorities and regularly report back. Results oriented, displaying initiative, working in a planned and organised fashion are other important qualities. Good communication skills, both verbal and in writing, in English and French, is very important.
