Marc Halbfinger
Chief Executive Officer

Before becoming PCCW Global CEO in 2007, Marc Halbfinger spent over 25 years in media and telecommunications roles, gaining experience in cable TV, directories, mobile, international voice, video, data and the Internet.

He joined PCCW in 2000 as Senior Vice President, Business Development for the Pacific Convergence Corporation, covering markets in Europe and North America, where he was involved in Now TV’s early commercial development. In 2001, he helped establish Beyond the Network, which became part of PCCW Global, covering Europe, the Middle East and Africa as President.

Marc was previously a Teleglobe Vice President, addressing Mediterranean and South European markets, after serving Global One, Sprint International and a Southwestern Bell subsidiary.

He holds a Master of Science (Econ.) in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

 

Bret Rehart
Chief Network Officer

Engaged in the design, engineering and operation of large-scale networks for more than 20 years, Bret Rehart holds a wealth of experience in satellite, microwave, copper, optical-fiber and other communications systems.

As Chief Network Officer, he led creation of the PCCW Global network from original concept to a capability comprising nodes in 29 US cities, six in Europe and nine in Asia.

Before joining a PCCW subsidiary in 2001, Bret worked as Chief Network Architect for Igea, Principal Engineer for Net2000 and Engineering Director for Teleglobe.

He was previously Director of Operations and Engineering for MCI/WorldCom and New York Earth Station Manager for OTI. From 1983 to 1987, he served as a satellite engineer in the US Army.

 

Mike van den Bergh
Chief Marketing Officer

With over 20 years’ experience in Africa’s developing communications industry, Mike van den Bergh has a deep understanding of the pan-African telecommunications market. As the former CEO of Gateway, Mike was instrumental in developing our leading position in the African carrier community and transforming Africa’s telecoms markets. He has played a leadership role in the telecommunications industry, chairing a number of major industry associations, both in South Africa and internationally.

As Chief Marketing Officer of PCCW Global, Mike’s key responsibilities include branding, market strategy, culture and communications.  He is also managing director of HKT Global Development Services.

Mike holds a B.Com degree from the University of South Africa.

 

Frederick Chui
Senior Vice President, Global Data Sales and Presales

Frederick Chui joined Hong Kong Telecom (HKT) in 1991 and held senior positions in solutions design, product management, product development and marketing. Until 2008, he was the Senior Vice President of PCCW Global’s international Products and Solutions division and was responsible for managing PCCW Global’s product management and development activities, as well as overseeing marketing and presales support activities around the world.

In 2008, Frederick was appointed head of Eastern Europe, Mediterranean, the Middle East, Africa and Oceania sales and business development operations. In early 2011, Frederick became Senior Vice President Global Marketing and Sales. He was responsible for overseeing PCCW Global’s business development in data sales, as well as presales activities, access management and marketing strategies. In 2012, he became the Senior Vice President, Global Data Sales and Presales.

Ronnie Klingner
President, Wholesale Voice Services

Holding more than 13 years’ experience in international telecommunications, Herndon VA-based Ronnie Klingner leads a team that covers operations, engineering, sales and back-office support.

In her former role as Regional Vice President, US Wholesale Voice, she led a PCCW Global sales team that served carriers throughout the Americas, growing the business by more than 200%.

Before joining PCCW Global, Ronnie was Regional Sales Director for Teleglobe International, after working in a product and customer services capacity for Sprint’s Global One alliance with Deutsche Telekom and France Telecom.

Sunny Yeung
Senior Vice President, Global Services & Operations

Thirty-year telecommunications veteran Sunny Yeung became Senior Vice President, Global Services in 2008 to manage all post-sales support and operations.

He previously served PCCW as Vice President, Customer Support, following tenure as Assistant Vice President, Service Management/Customer Service, and Assistant Vice President, Service Support/Customer Service.

From 1985 to 1991, Sunny worked as Senior Controller, Specialized Service Development for Hong Kong Telecom. He also served British Airways as a Network Engineer and S.W.I.F.T as Far East Regional Technical Representative.

Sunny is a corporate member of the Institution of Electrical & Electronic Engineers, as well as a member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology, and holds an MBA from Brunel University in the UK.

Jordick Wong
Senior Vice President, Product and Vendor Management

Jordick is the Senior Vice President of Product and Vendor Management of PCCW Global and leads a team of product managers and vendor managers to manage data product business and procurement activities cost-effectively. He was previously VP IP Products in the company.

Jordick has more than 30 years experience in the telecommunications industry and specializes in international data communications businesses. He has been part of HKT since 1998 and held various senior positions in C&W/HKT which later become PCCW. In 1995-98, he held a senior position in C&W Optus Australia.

Phil Braden
Senior Vice President, Technology & Applications

Phil joined the team in 2009. With an extensive background in satellite, Phil was an early pioneer of digital satellite broadcasting. He led teams that designed, built and operated some of the world’s largest broadcasting network operations centers. Phil served as an SCO in the USA, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe. In 2008, he was voted one of the 50 most influential persons in European Media by Cable & Satellite Magazine.

Phil is now the Senior Vice President of Technology & Applications in PCCW Global.

He has a master's degree in Business Administration from The University of Liverpool.
